FAQ: FLUX FLAP: iPad Case with MAGNETS for Unlimited Angles
For the most up-to-date information about the status of our project, check our project updates on Kickstarter!

What type of material is on the inner side of FLUX+FLAP?

Currently, the fabric on the inside of the FLAP is soft microfiber. However, we’re testing a really cool alternative material right now and if it works, we may ask for your help in choosing which one to use. The inside of the case with PositionPlus+™ also has a very thin lining of microfiber which comes in contact with the iPad to protect the back side of the iPad. Will magnets harm the device/wipe out data, etc.?

We have tested Flux+Flap with iPads for over a full year and have experienced no adverse affects in any way. Many current market iPad cases and stands also use the same types of magnets (Neodymiums, otherwise known as, Rare Earth magnets). As a matter of fact, a really cool Kickstarter product recently funded and we believe they also use Neodymiums. Last updated: Thu, Nov 21 2013 10:12 am EST

Will the magnets lose strength over time?

As long as the magnets are not overheated above 590°F, then you are in the safe zone for a very long time. Neodymium magnets will lose less than 1% of their strength over 10 years. As long as you hold firm to your decision to never bake the Flux+Flap in the oven, then your magnets will be just fine. For more information on rare earth magnets, check out what these cool experts have to say about them:http://www.kjmagnetics.com. Last updated: Thu, Nov 21 2013 10:12 am EST

Any thought of adding a keyboard?

Team NewFlux’s number one priority is to bring the tablet back baby! And so the design and concept (modeled after the look of an envelope) is intentionally excluding a keyboard. However, we travel, we type emails, and we use Facebook to tell people what we’re eating for lunch. For important tasks like those, a keyboard has always been a part of the plan. Our detachable Bluetooth keyboard has been in development since day one. It’s not included in this Kickstarter, but we’re excited to get it to the point where we can show it to FLUX+FLAP fans and owners. When it’s available, it will be there when you need one, but not there when you don’t want it. Last updated: Thu, Nov 21 2013 10:12 am EST

Are there other accessories which can be used with the Flux+Flap?

We’re sure that your imagination about those products is already as wild as ours was from day one. Stay tuned for more awesomeness. Last updated: Thu, Nov 21 2013 10:12 am EST

How do I order more than one FluxFlap?/ What if I have a friend who wants to order a FluxFlap?

To order more than one FluxFlap, simply do the math for however many FluxFlaps you want, and that is your total pledge amount. For instance, if you want 4 FluxFlaps, one for every member of your family, you could do as follows: 1) pledge on whichever FluxFlap design you want for yourself, let’s say, $59 Gravel Grey. 2) next add in the totals for every other FluxFlap you want to order: 2 more gravel Greys is $59 + $59 = $118, plus you want a White Gold which is $69. Your total would be $59 + $59 + $59 + $69 = $246. If you are International, simply add $15 for the entire order. +++++++If you order more than one FluxFlap, OR you introduce a friend to our campaign and they are a new backer on or after December 24, we will give you a free spare Flap in the color of your choice++++++++ Last updated: Tue, Dec 24 2013 5:45 pm EST

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
